Welcome to the the Edinburgh University Politics Society
The Politics Society is one of the largest and oldest student societies at Edinburgh University. The Society is dedicated to providing a public forum for discussion of political issues as a service to the university community. As such, we host regular talks events given by prominent speakers from the political and diplomatic world in the firm belief that steady access to first hand political discourse is a beneficial resource to help inform our members’ studies, interests and voting preferences.
The Politics Society is a politically neutral organisation, and remains unaffiliated with any major political party or candidate. Talks are generally open to the public, though are always held on the campus of Edinburgh University. Events may be filmed and made available through this website or on request. Please see our upcoming list of speakers for information regarding time, place and admission.
Membership
Please consider becoming a member. Membership costs £8.00 for members of the public and £4.00 for students and staff of Edinburgh University. Members gain free admission to events as well as priority for events with limited seating. The Politics Society is a non-profit organisation and proceeds allow us to continue our tradition of hosting high-level events.
